Director’s Statement
Welcome to the UCLA Office of Residential Life (ORL). Your experience within the residential community is of the utmost importance to us. We firmly believe (and are backed by research!) that your living experience can have a positive impact on your academic success and your overall college experience. Make the most of your time here!!
Take
advantage of the resources and opportunities while living on campus. The staff within ORL are eager to assist
you in your academic success, community involvement, leadership development and personal growth. They are
committed to developing inclusive living/learning communities that enhance your experience and learning. You can
think of your residence halls as the "out-of-class" classroom — a laboratory for life lessons! We, in ORL, are
passionate about facilitating such life learning. Our staff consists of approximately 40 professional staff, 200
student staff, 120 student leaders and 16 Faculty-in-Residence.
As the Director, I am honored to work alongside members of ORL who are committed, not only to our students’ development and learning, but also to our organizational development and learning. ORL is committed to being the best we can be in providing an outstanding residential living/learning experience to our residents and an amazing leadership opportunity to our staff and student leaders.
