The Office of Residential Life seeks to provide residents with academic inspiration and support in the residential area. One of our primary goals is to promote mentoring relationships between residents and faculty members. To this end, ORL sponsors several faculty programs, including the Faculty-in-Residence program.
The Faculty-in-Residence program is run by faculty members who live in UCLA’s Residence Halls. These faculty members are committed to student development and success at UCLA—they believe one of the best ways to promote this development is to bring the learning experience into the living environment. The Faculty-in-Residence program, therefore, provides both formal and informal resident-faculty interactions in the residential setting.
Faculty members offer a variety of programs where students can share in their interests and learn more about the work done by UCLA professors. These programs offer a unique opportunity for students to relate to faculty members on a more personal level than they can in the classroom.
The menu at the right links to brief biographies for each Faculty-in-Residence. Read through these statements for an introduction to each faculty member and a brief description of each professor’s background and interests. The faculty members are eager to share their skills and knowledge with residents of UCLA’s On-Campus Housing. Please take advantage of this unique opportunity to build important educational contacts and experiences.
Faculty-in-Residence Positions
Recruitment for the Faculty-in-Residence program occurs annually, subject to the number of open positions. Recruitment typically begins in late December for appointments beginning in September.
