Hello future residents and welcome to Courtside, the place to be! My name is JoeAnn Nguyen and I will be your Resident Director for the 08/09 academic year. This will be my 3rd year at UCLA and my first in Sunset Village. The Courtside Staff and I are here to show you how to really make Courtside your home while at UCLA. We are so happy to welcome you into our already exciting and dynamic community. We offer many ways to connect with your community, and we're eager to hear the refreshing new ideas that you'll bring. I encourage you to take advantage of the leadership opportunities in your house, attend hall programming, and meet the dynamic people that will be your neighbors.
Courtside has an amazing energy that you'll have to see to believe. That’s the way it’s always been, and every day the staff and I work hard to keep it that way. Since all of our houses are interconnected, Courtside is literally the only building of its kind. You'll find it just as easy to get to know people who are two or three houses away as it is to socialize with your neighbors next door.
The very center of the building is a beautiful courtyard with cool little semi-private sitting spaces. The bamboo trees throughout make it a tranquil place, where many residents gravitate to for late-night cell phone conversations.

Staff Info:
Courtside has one full time Resident Director, one part-time Assistant Resident Director, 8 Resident Assistants, 3 Programming Assistants, 7 Student Leaders & 1 Faculty in Residence. We share our Office assistants with the other SV buildings. Our office is located in Covel Commons.
Sunset LUV Luau
Saturday, September 27th in the area between all of the Sunset Village and Sproul Hall for a grand block party and fun times. Socialize, grab a bite to eat, toss around the Frisbee, and enjoy other fun activities. It’s going to be a great time. See you there!
Sunset Village move-in is during the weekend of September 20th. Each resident is assigned a specific move in day and time range. You will be getting your assigned window in late August.
