The Suite Life!
Greetings! My name is Elissa Lappenga, and I will be the Saxon Suites Resident Director for the 2009-2010 academic year. This will be my third year at UCLA and my fifth year working in Residential Life. The Saxon ORL staff and I are busy making preparations for your arrival this fall, and we look forward to supporting you as a student and a unique individual in the year to come. Our hope is that you won't just live in Saxon, but that you'll thrive here! One great way to do this is by getting involved in your new community through the leadership positions available in the Saxon Suites Residents Association and the leadership opportunities in your building. You'll also have countless opportunities to meet your neighbors at the dynamic programs and events our staff will be putting on for you this year.
Saxon is located at the middle of the Hill, before you have had too much walking from central campus, but still just enough to call it healthy exercise! Saxon is an intimate, comfortable, outdoor-style community with beautiful landscaping and outdoor courtyards. We have a sand volleyball court and brand new basketball courts as well. Saxon is comprised of 7 buildings; 6 residential buildings and 1 administrative building that also houses the laundry facility and vending machines.
Saxon has one full time Resident Director, one part-time Assistant Resident Director, 6 Resident Assistants, 2 Program Assistants, 8 Student Leaders, several Office Assistants, and 1 Faculty in Residence.
