Hello, BRUINS and welcome to Sproul Hall! My name is TiRease Holmes and I am your Resident Director for the upcoming school year. This will be my fifth year as a Resident Director and my first year at Sproul, having spent four years being the Resident Director of Canyon Point. Prior to arriving at UCLA, I served as a Resident Director at the University of Maryland, College Park for two years. I am originally from the city of brotherly love and sisterly affection... Philadelphia. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at UCLA and look forward to the upcoming year in our newly renovated building!
Hello incoming Sproul residents!! My name is Juliette Roll and I will be your Assistant Resident Director for the 08' 09' school year! I am originally from the Chicagoland area, although I come to you all the way from Western Michigan University and the "Great Lakes State" (aka. Kalamazoo, Michigan). I spent the past 3 years completing my Master’s degree in Student Affairs and working as House Director for the lovely ladies of Alpha Phi. I am new to Los Angeles and our brand new building and am excited about the great things that we can make happen together this year!
With its greatly anticipated reopening taking place this fall, Sproul is back with a vengeance. After a two year hiatus, Sproul Remix is up and kicking, boasting of brand new, environmentally sustainable interior design, upgraded heating system, and state of the art lighting. Sproul’s heaters are powered by solar panels! Also, students can enjoy brand new furniture and carpets made from sustainable forests, wall to ceiling windows in the lounges, and newly renovated bathrooms with brand new countertops and among other things, fancy stone and wall tile accents. WAIT, THERE’s MORE! Bruin Cafe is on the ground level of Sproul, making us only a swipe away from smoothies, coffees, pastries, sandwiches and salads!
Originally built in 1960 and named after Robert Gordon Sproul, the president of the University of California from 1930 to 1958, Sproul is a high rise with 7 floors and 4 bathrooms on each floor. Sproul has 418 rooms, a lounge on each floor, study rooms, music practice rooms, a TV room, and two theme communities. This year, we will have a Chicano/Chicana studies theme and Green/Sustainability theme on the second floor. Lastly, with a staff of 24 Resident Assistants, 11 Student Leaders, 1 Faculty in Residence, 1 Full-time Assistant Resident Director, and 1 Resident Director, Sproul is equipped with a great team working together to help make your experience here the best possible. We look forward to welcoming you personally and helping you all move in!
