- I will be accountable as an individual & member of this community for my ethical conduct.
- Respect

- Service

Living on campus at UCLA, you will be in close quarters with about 10,000 other students. On the Hill, there are more people living than there are in many towns and cities! This is a new and exciting opportunity in many ways.
Theme Communities
Through the Theme Housing program, students with similar interests can live together and participate in specially designed programs. For the 2008-2009 academic year the Office of Residential Life will initiate a pilot program with new themes:
- African Diaspora Studies Theme
- Chican@/Latin@ Studies Theme
- Green/Sustainability Theme
- Health Sciences Theme
- Transfer Experience Theme
Responsible Citizenship
ORL is committed to providing opportunities for residents to grow in their roles as responsible citizens. In addition to being members of the On-Campus Housing community, UCLA students can access numerous opportunities to become engaged in service to Los Angeles communities. ORL Theme Communities offer the chance to live with other students and explore current issues, and one community is a Community Service Theme Community. There are many ways to get involved.
You may find information about roommate relations, programming, and student government helpful as you adjust to living on campus. Rules for residents have been created to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a UCLA student and as a resident living in On-Campus Housing.
