UC Management Services Officer I

Highly autonomous in nature, the RD sets and carries out the programmatic vision for a residential facility and oversees the residential team in supporting the mission and goals of the department. Job functions include: student staff supervision/training; programmatic implementation; student conduct; government advising; counseling; crisis response (active duty coverage); creating positive working relationships with colleagues, students and Housing partners.

Qualifications

The RD position is classified as a UCLA Management Services Officer I position. The requirement for the MSOI position is a bachelor’s degree; master’s degree preferred. Continued employment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background investigation. The successful candidate will bring to UCLA the following:

  • 1-3 years of post-master’s experience in student affairs functions; live-in experience a plus
  • A commitment and willingness to engage in complex diversity issues
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching/mentoring/supervision of student staff
  • Experience with activity planning/programming/program development
  • Ability to design and deliver training curricula/sessions
  • Ability to manage a rigorous administrative workload; strong project management skills
  • Experience in counseling and advising
