Community Living
As a Bruin, I commit myself to the highest ethical standards
- Integrity
- I will conduct myself with integrity in my dealings with & on behalf of the University.
- Excellence
- I will conscientiously strive for excellence in my work.
- Accountability
- I will be accountable as an individual & member of this community for my ethical conduct.
- Respect
- I will respect the rights & dignity of others.
Living on campus at UCLA, you will be in close quarters with about 10,000 other students. On the Hill, there are more people living than there are in many towns and cities! This is a new and exciting opportunity in many ways.
Theme Communities
Through the Theme Housing program, students with similar interests can live together and participate in specially designed programs. For the 2008-2009 academic year the Office of Residential Life will initiate a pilot program with four new themes:
- African Diaspora Studies Theme
- Chican@/Latin@ Studies Theme
- Green/Sustainability Theme
- Health Sciences Theme
Responsible Citizenship
ORL has created a community standards statement, which emphasizes our commitment to each of you living in this diverse community. Please take time to read the statement and feel free to ask questions of your RA, RD or other ORL staff member. You may find information about roommate relations, programming, and student government helpful as you adjust to living on campus. Rules for residents have been created to help you understand your rights and responsibilities as a UCLA student and as a resident living in On Campus Housing.
