African Diaspora Studies Theme
The African Diaspora Theme Community provides students who are interested in learning more about the Diaspora with a unique opportunity to live in a space that will foster and encourage their personal development. It promotes new levels of consciousness and inspires students to go out and advocate for themselves and their communities.
Living in the African Diaspora Theme Community will allow residents to be exposed to a range of issues relating to people of African descent. Additionally, living with other students who have similar interests will build community, foster lifetime friendships, and establish networks. Students will have the opportunity to volunteer and serve the community-at-large and develop into critical thinkers who are cognizant of social issues.
The academic theme for 2009-2010 is Carnival.
