The Sustainability/Green Theme Community provides a living and learning environment for students interested in uniting as a community for transformative action. We believe in the power of leadership in impacting the sustainability issues in earth’s ecology, economic viability, human and animal rights progression. We focus on the social, economic and scientific issues affecting our Earth’s urban, rural and global environment. Our goal is to engage residents in a variety of educational programs - such as documentary screenings and community service projects - that both educate and empower students on specific issues related to sustainability. In conjunction with UCLA’s Institute of the Environment, we provide residents the opportunity to work with faculty in both structured and informal ways to explore ways in which UCLA students can lead more sustainable lifestyles.
